Rising Sun Media Group LLC, was founded in 2010 by Jeff J. Vernitsky and Kendy D. Merritt. Together, they bring a combined knowledge and enthusiasm that makes for an outstanding team. Kendy and Jeff have a love for the business they have built from the ground up. 

Jeff Vernitsky, an accomplished television producer, camera operator and video editor; brings to the table more than ten years of technical knowledge laced with a creative edge. From his early college days, Jeff found himself, first drawn to the creative side of video production through writing. As his skills and talent grew, Jeff found his real passion was bringing his creations to life through the use of video.

Since 2002 Jeff has worked with the area’s leading television broadcaster, and has honed his skills in the many facets of video production. Being a valued team member Jeff has worked on production crews of: news magazine shows, informational television programs, sporting events, movie projects and documentaries. In 2009 Jeff expanded his skills into a specialized form videographer. These specialized videographer techniques utilize camera support equipment such as camera jibs, dollies and stabilizer systems. The result, breath taking imagery that not only moves the camera but movies the audience. Today, Jeff brings all his talents to Rising Sun Media Group to custom design a video project for his clients that set them apart from their competitors. 

Kendy Merritt, with more than twelve years experience working with the region’s largest companies has developed her skills in graphic design and presentation development. In 2009, Kendy joined the corporate training world as a lead Training Associate and later moved into Instructional Systems Design. Since then, she has been a valued member of several development teams, by designing and implementing industrial training through instructor-led and e-learning. As Rising Sun Media Group’s training specialist Kendy adds her skills and reassures her clients the that there training needs will be met. 

In early 2010 Carla Showell-Lee, a multi-talented host, writer and producer joined the Rising Sun production team. Carla began her career as a volunteer radio reporter at WRTI JAZZ 90 and was later hired at KYW News radio as a production assistant. Later, shifting gears toward television, Carla found herself a valued production member of Bill Cosby's popular game show "You Bet Your Life", Discovery Channel's Home Matters and eventually settled into a 10 year career as a familiar face on CN8's Comcast NEWSMAKERS. Today, Carla has expanded herself again and has become the newest team member of Rising Sun Media Group. Her experience in the television industry as well as her dedication and commitment is key to our success.
